BLS Primary Survey
BLS Primary Survey is a systematic assessment to identify whether a victim is in cardiac arrest or not.
Steps of BLS Primary Survey:
1. Check Response
2. Call for Help
3. Open Airway
4. Assess Breathing
5. Give 2 Rescue Breaths
6. Check Pulse
7. Start Chest Compressions
A victim is deemed to be in cardiac arrest when he is unresponsive, does not breathe spontaneously and does not have a palpable pulse.
BLS Primary Survey rapidly identifies victims in cardiac arrest and enables the healthcare provider to start cardiopulmonary resuscitation immediately.
